INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an animation about Brooklyn adolescent Miles Morales who is bitten by a radioactive spider that turns him into Spider-Man (but not the only one). The goal was to pick three key scenes from the movie and transform it into a typographic script book. It later expanded to transforming one scene into a type-based motion following the same aesthetic.

CONCEPT
One of the recurring themes of the movie is “great expectations.” Through these three scenes, the reader navigates through Miles' self-discovery to understand who he is amidst these “great expectations.” Through color, texture, and type the mood is set in every spread. The aesthetic brings comic book elements and merge it with more graffiti and underground textures that link to Miles personality.
